Not thinking of you Martin Alexander - UK / HK I didn't think of you at all today: As I awoke you were not catlike curled Behind my sleeping eyes. When the yellow Dawn yawned, dispelled the night's last shades of grey I didn't think your honeyed hair unfurled A flag of shouldered gold. And when, below A woman's ear I saw, like yours, a mole, I didn't think to think of you. Tonight No star reminds me of your eyes' bright soul Where I might find my own quite drowned in light. My every thought's been free of you! No strings To pull me back to you from busy things. I haven't thought of you at all, I vow! No more than I am thinking of you now. |
